Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentation Instructions

Duration

Oral presentations must be 10-12 minutes (speakers will be stopped at 12 minutes) followed by questions to a maximum of 15 minutes total. This will include the changeover of speakers, so you will not have slides available for the last 1 minute of questions.

Language

All presentations must be delivered in English.

Presentation Format

  • PowerPoint (preferred) and PDF presentations only
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9
  • Save your presentation in PPTX format (not PPSX or .ppt) or PDF
  • Presentations must be run from the podium PCs not personal laptops
  • Presentations must be uploaded via the speaker ready room at least one full session, or 2 hours before (whichever is longer) in advance of when you are presenting

Design Guidelines

  • Avoid non-standard fonts unless embedded and included in your uploaded presentations
  • If you wish to use an ISBS 2026 logo within your presentation, please see the files at the end of this page

Video

  • Where you can, embed videos within the presentation to avoid as many codec issues as possible
  • Limit individual video sizes to under 100 MB if possible
  • Embedded videos must be tested on Windows PCs and we recommend testing once uploaded onto a university compute in the speaker ready room. Technical support is limited within the sessions and they need to run to time.

Apple/Mac/Linux Users

  • Always test your presentation on a PC with Microsoft Office before arriving and on the University computers in the speaker ready room
  • Save the file with a .pptx or .pdf extension to ensure compatibility

  • The posters should be oriented in portrait

  • Further details will be provided on the conference website nearer the time for free poster printing
  • There will be no ‘oral presentation’ associated with the poster, but each poster will be alloacted a specific poster session (day) in which the poster should be presented
