Student mentor programme
The student mentor programme has been a component of the annual ISBS conference since 2012. This presents an excellent opportunity for ISBS student members to meet with experts in the field of sports biomechanics. Each year, the society does their best to match mentors and mentees based on their research interests. Mentors come from a range of biomechanical backgrounds and are open to discussing your research and career aspirations or sharing their experience with you. Students who have participated in the mentoring programme in previous years have found it to be a valuable part of the conference and have made excellent contacts. Participation is free of charge and is planned during breakfast on day two of the conference (Tuesday 28th July). If you would like to be part of the mentor programme, select the option during the online registration process for the conference.
Student travel grant
The ISBS Student Travel Grant financially supports the travel cost of students presenting their paper at the ISBS conference with up to €500.
The requirements for application are:
- ISBS Student Member in good standing – membership can be purchased during conference registration;
- At least one paper submitted for oral or poster presentation as first author;
- Intended participation at the conference (to be confirmed by registration).
To apply, please complete the application form (linked below) and return it to the ISBS Vice President (Conferences and Meetings) at vpconferences@isbs.org by 30th April 2026.
